Presses Partout wins the ‘Media, Women, Peace, and Security’ Award, presented from New York
Presses Partout, represented by its founder and Chairperson, journalist, director, and executive producer Zalfa George Assaf, secured first place in the prestigious global award: WPS Media Award:Media, Women, Peace, and Security for 1325.The award was organized by the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP) in New York, in partnership with the UN Security Council’s Women’s Committee and the Canadian government.
The award ceremony was held locally in Lebanon at Beit Beirut, Sodeco, under the patronage of the Ministry of Information. The event was attended by the U.S. delegation from New York, represented by:
• Mavic Cabrera-Balleza, GNWP CEO.
• Katrina Leclerc, GNWP Director, and
• Alonna Despain, GNWP Middle East Representative.
The award aimed to support UN Security Council Resolution 1325, which focuses on enhancing the role of women in media, peace, and security.
The winning project was the documentary “Women fighters for Peace”, produced, and directed by Assaf through the Presses Partout Media Production House, which served as the executive producer. The documentary was produced by Al Jazeera Documentary Channel.
Presses Partout went on to represent Lebanon at international conferences organized by the United Nations in New York, aiming to foster partnerships for impactful media and documentary productions that promote peace worldwide.

PRESSES PARTOUT Wins the “Arab Media Excellence” Award from the Arab League
PRESSES PARTOUT, represented by its founder and Chairperson, journalist, director, and executive producer Zalfa Assaf, won the “Arab Media Excellence Award” in its 7th edition in the category of ‘Best Documentary Film’ for the film “The Emperors of water tanks”. The film was produced by Presses Partout as the executive producer for Al Jazeera Documentary Channel, which was the producer .
The award was organized by the General Secretariat of the Arab League – Media Sector. A total of 107 candidates from various Arab countries applied for the award, with the theme of ‘Environmental Media’ under the slogan ‘Climate Change and the Future’.
The awards were presented during a special ceremony held on the sidelines of the 2023 Arab Media Ministers Council in Morocco.
The documentary portrays the reality of water in Lebanon, where citizens have long suffered from water shortages and drought. The film begins with a human perspective and explores political, economic, and sociological dimensions, presenting the issue in a documentary investigative style. It highlights the daily lives of tanker drivers and their interactions with the water crisis and water sources for distribution. The film also contrasts Lebanon’s water wealth, being the third Arab country with the most water, with the ongoing drought issues.
