Zalfa Georges Assaf, the media personality, director, and executive producer, won the first prize in Lebanon in the ‘Media, Women, Security, and Peace’ competition sponsored by the Ministry of Information. The event was organized by the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders, aiming to support UN Security Council Resolution 1325, which focuses on enhancing the role of women in security and peace. The celebration took place at Beit Beirut El Sodeco, attended by participants, media figures, human rights activists, and representatives of international organizations.

Twenty media professionals, including Assaf, participated in the competition, where she secured the first prize with her documentary film ‘Warriors for Peace’ Produced and directed by Presses Partout, the film was broadcast on Al Jazeera Documentary Channel. The documentary narrates the stories of four Lebanese women who, after experiencing disappointment in the Lebanese war, decided to transform into peace warriors. They conveyed the message of peace to the younger Lebanese generation through oral history, improvisational theater, dialogue sessions, lectures, confessions, humanitarian and social work, and other methods. The aim is to learn from their experiences to prevent the recurrence of the civil war.
Zalfa Assaf will represent Lebanon in the Csw67 wich will be held in New York city.
