Khaled Mouzanar Joins the Un Certain Regard Jury at the Cannes Film Festival 2026

Composer, producer, and filmmaker Khaled Mouzanar has been appointed to the Jury of the Un Certain Regard section at the Festival de Cannes 2026.

A key section of the Festival de Cannes, Un Certain Regard highlights bold, distinctive works that offer fresh perspectives and innovative cinematic languages. This appointment recognizes Mouzanar’s singular artistic trajectory, spanning music, cinema, and contemporary creation.

It is also notable that composers are rarely represented on Cannes juries, making this nomination particularly distinctive and reflective of an artistic voice that bridges sound and image.

Renowned for his acclaimed film scores and his long-standing collaboration with director Nadine Labaki, Mouzanar notably contributed to the film Capharnaüm, which received the Jury Prize at Cannes in 2018 and was nominated for the Academy Awards.

His presence on the Un Certain Regard Jury reflects a commitment to an open, sensitive, and demanding cinema—one that champions new, free, and essential voices.

On this occasion, Khaled Mouzanar stated: “I am deeply honored to join the Un Certain Regard Jury this year. Thank you to the Cannes Film Festival for this invitation. I look forward to discovering new, free, and essential voices.”

Cannes Film Festival will held from the 12th to the 23rd of May 2026.
