Saint Levant returns with AFANDI, his highly anticipated new album, released via
SALXCO UAM | VIRGIN MUSIC GROUP. More than a collection of songs, AFANDI is
a cultural statement—an exploration of identity, nostalgia, and modern Arab
expression through Saint Levant’s singular artistic lens.
Inspired by the timeless charisma of Arab icons such as George Wassouf and
Kadim Al Saher, AFANDI reinterprets the classic Afandi archetype through Saint
Levant’s unmistakably modern lens. Blending traditional influences with
contemporary production, the album moves fluidly between nostalgia and
innovation, offering a deeply personal take on Arab identity that feels both rooted
in heritage and firmly of the moment. As Saint Levant continues to expand his global reach, AFANDI further blurs the lines between music, fashion, and culture. Anchored in Arab identity, the album reflects his ability to translate
personal and cultural narratives into a sound that resonates far beyond borders.
The 12-track album includes the previously released singles “SABAH EL WARD” and
“MITSUBISHI,” his first collaboration with Haifa Wehbe, alongside ten new songs: “LEIL EL
SAHRANEEN,” “CINDERELLA,” MASKARA, ” “SO WHAT? ,” “MONAYA,” “MASLA7JIYA,” “SAHRAN
W NASI,” “WARDEH,” “HAWA,” “RAYIH WEIN?”
“MASKARA”, the album’s lead single, finds Saint Levant leaning into Arabic pop while staying
rooted in the cultural identity that has long shaped his music. The track brings him together
with iconic star Mohammed Assaf, pairing two artists whose voices carry a distinct connection to Palestinian and Arab identity. At its heart, “MASKARA, ” is a celebration of Palestine, Arab
culture and the beauty and presence of the Arab woman. Its atmosphere draws from local
traditions and collective memory, weaving familiar cultural references into a contemporary pop
sound. The result is a track that balances heritage with modernity, carrying a strong sense of
belonging without losing its crossover appeal.
The music video for “MASKARA, ” was filmed in Amman and produced by Vanta. It will be
released alongside Saint Levant’s forthcoming album, AFANDI.Reflecting on the album, Saint Levant said: “AFANDI is a celebration of an identity that has
always inspired me. I wanted to honor a generation that shaped our music, style, and culture
while reimagining that legacy through my own perspective.”
He added: “For me, this album is about creating a dialogue between the past and the
present—showing that authenticity has the power to transcend generations. Alongside the release of AFANDI, Saint Levant has announced the AFANDI Nights World Tour,
which will travel across Europe and North America. Inspired by the golden era of Levantine
nightlife, the production combines live music with cinematic visuals and storytelling, extending
the album’s themes into an immersive concert experience.
